N'awlins

While Byron is in Clevland this week, I thought I would take the kids to New Orleans for a few days. We hadn't been yet and since school is starting in a few short weeks, we were due for a little fun.
Originally we were going to meet some friends a little further south from New Orleans for an airboat ride, then head to our hotel, but as I drove down the sky looked ominous so I bailed and just went straight to the hotel. It turned out to be a good idea since our friends didn't end up being able to ride once they got there either.
Monday, most places are closed, so we went to the pool and then walked around a bit before heading to dinner.

Hannah starting in on her fried oysters, shrimp and catfish. Think she finished?

The next day we got up had breakfast then headed to the Children's Museum. The kids had a blast. I couldn't get Hannah out of the Winn Dixie or Jack and Rachael out of the Kids' Cafe. Once I did manage and we had more fun we headed for lunch then on to the Audubon Aquarium.

Jack finally pulling his own weight.
Hannah pulling down 500 lbs. She put all her weight, a whoppin' 78 lbs into it!
Future firefighter.
"Here's your Coke sir, would you like anything else?".
True to her roots.
"Now, if I could only remember that code for kiwis..."
Never know when being both a Viking and an architect will come in handy.
The kids looking into the funny mirrors.
Aquarium
Them folks sure is a speck-ti-kul to behold.

Since I feel this post to be quite enough on your brains, I shall leave the last day of our adventure till tomorrow. Don't forget to check back 'cause it's a good one!

That looks like fun. You are in a neat area. Your kids are so cute! You need a picture with you in it too so the kids remember that YOU took them on a fun trip.
p.s. Mallory is not happy with me that she didn't get to see Hannah while she was in AZ! Next time...

Hannah is dying to see Mallory. She asked the other day if Mal would still consider her a friend. I said "Of course silly!" that made her feel happy. I need to make a trip out to just see you with Hannah. I'll look into it.
