Sinterklass

It's that time of year once again. As many of you know we celebrate Christmas a little bit different in the Jensen household. Sinterklass visits the kids the 1st weekend in December or the weekend closest to the 6th. Last night he came and deposited treats in their shoes and a few gifts under the tree.
Santa comes when he normally does and fills stockings with goodies and places a few more gifts under the tree.
Last night the kids put their shoes by the door and eagerly anticipated the hour to which their little bodies would spring out of bed and discover what was left for them. This is some of what they found.

Scotty, our elf wasn't new, but showing the time they appeared downstairs, or at least when I got up and snapped the picture!

The tree.

Kids shoes with treats placed there by Sinterklass.

Waiting to open.

Lego's. Just what every 7 yr. old boy desires!

Baby Avery. Rachael has found a love for baby dolls after all!

Hannah and her really cool new watch.

Finally Rachael. This is the look of disappointment for not having received the drum set she placed as top priority on her wish list. I had to remind her that list was for Santa, not Sinterklass!

All in all the morning was great. We then headed off to church and had a great day. I taught my first "first sunday" lesson and it turned out pretty decent, we watched the Christmas devotional, and tucked everyone in.
Life is good.

The sight of those shoes with treats in them is sooo cute! What a fun tradition. Mallory's favorite friend in Brazil was dutch and celebrated with Sinterklass as well. But darn I forgot the devotional tonight. Hannah is cute with her braces on too:).

What a cute idea! I wish we spread out the gift-giving a little more instead of dumping them all on the kids at once.

What a great tradition! I can't think of any other way to make Christmas more fun...than to have 2 of them!
