Two nights ago we made a quick trip to the grocery store. When we got to the produce section Jack saw a package of baby spinach that had a picture of Popeye on it. He said he wanted it and was going to eat some of it for dinner when we got home. Now, I make spinach periodically and I even have it on hand for salads sometimes. I am not sure if Jack has ever tried it raw or not. He has tried it steamed and didn't like it. I can't blame him as I totally hated it as a child. Well, when we got home he and Rachael set to making their own dinner. They made salad with the spinach, cheese sandwiches and fruit. They loved it and ate everything. I know that part of it was the fact that they had made it themselves.
Well afterwards I decided to look on Netflix to see if they had any Popeye cartoons that could be viewed on the computer. There were a few so they watched them. While they were doing that I was making cookies. Of course the ouse smelled good, but what do I hear twice while they were watching the cartoons?..."We need more spinach!" I had to fill a little bowl two times for them to share. They ate it plain. After church today Jack asked if he could make his own lunch when we got home. What did he have? Spinach. Who knew Popeye would really have that kind of impact on those two? Go figure.

Wow! That's awesome. I've wondered if I should try Popeye therapy with spinach, but never done it. Now I have to. Their plates look so yummy!
Pure cuteness! And boy, does Jack look like Byron or what?!?!
Wow! That's pretty impressive. They make their own meals AND eat spinach. The only way my kids will eat spinach is in a smoothy.
