Getting settled.

Well, I haven't had time to take any photos really, but we are setting in just great. I have enrolled Hannah and Jack in school. Hannah's principal lives right across the street from us and is super nice. We have hung out with a few of our neighbors and are sure we will all become good friends. We are realizing that we will soon need to invest in some ATV's however. It's a huge thing here and Byron thinks it's a good idea!

Jack and Rachael are begining swim lessons tomorrow. I am happy for them to get out and become involved in something. We have been going to our pool almost daily and surprisingly there is hardly anyone ever there! The kids are all signed up for fall sports. Hannah is doing soccer and Jack has picked basketball. He wanted football but you gotta be 9 here to play. Rachael is so sad that she can't play sports yet, but I have assured her that next year she can play as many as possible since she will be 4!

I have looked into preschool for Rachael. The Methodist one here in town has a really good reputation and isn't too far to drive at all. They have an option for just one day a week. I think that might be a good start. She needs to hang with kids her age but I love having her around.

All in all I am really loving Mississippi. It's just the kind of weather I like and I get the green to go along with it. I feel so at home here, it's amazing. The folks here are so nice and polite(can't wait for that to rub off on my kids!) "Yes, mam" "Yes, sir" is so common to hear out of kids mouths! Jack has already started saying "y'all" it's so cute. Byron catches me a lot slipping into the "drawl". I knew it would happen since most of my thoughts have always been in a southern twang! Strange I know. I guess I was destined to become a southern belle at some point! I'll try and post some pictures soon of our area. I just got to remember to pack my camera in my bag. Catch y'all later!

Didn't know you were moving. I don't keep up on blogs like I used to. So much fun for you to be able to experience so many diff. places. The house is adorable, much more character than the cookie cutter ones here in AZ. In answer to your question about being healthy, kind of strange from the girl who used to get paid in M&M's for babysitting! I guess I just saw the effect that way of eating was having on my parents and siblings and decided to make changes. It's been fun - and yummy! I still love M&M's though, and sweets.

Elizabeth, the pics on facebook are gorgeous. You have such great decorating skills. I need to hire you! To answer your question on my blog, we hope to move to Utah in the next 3-4 years. Not too soon, but soon enough to get excited!

Girl, I hear you re: the drawl! IT takes me about 5 minutes to slip into it! Soon you will notice all the regional differences--on my mish I could hear what I called the plantation accent vs. the hillbilly accent vs. the way-south accent. Y'all is such a handy word, but fixin' to is my fave--it's so much quicker than "getting ready to" or whatever we're SUPPOSED to say. I still slip in a fixin' to or an all y'all here and there. I'll always have a soft spot for southern culture!
