I made it.

I remember wearing pillow case dresses as a child. They have been around for a long time. My grandmother made them for me when I was very young. Since moving to the South, I have found that they are very popular. I had thought about finding out how to make them, but never got around to it. Well, there is a catalog I recieve, from which I would love to order, but just can't justify the cost. The other day I recieved the latest one and in it they have for sale these pillow case dresses, and they are reversible. They are super cute. Great colors and they even come monogramed. Guess how much they charge for these? a whoppin' $98. Like, really?
I had purchased some fabric about a month ago with the idea I would make some capris and tops for Rachael, or something to that effect. After seeing this $98 dress in the Garnet Hill catalog, I thought, I can do this. So I found an old pillow case from a set of sheets I don't use anymore. Found directions, and tried it out. Really easy. Now to make it reversible. Hmmm..... I cut out my fabric, looked at the picture, sewed a few seams, looked at the picture some more, took out a few seams, etc. After about 2 hours I managed to do it. I am going to make one for Hannah so the two girls can match. The next one won't take as long since I have it figured out. I really am not a seamstress; sort of self taught. I don't do well with patterns and their directions. They confuse me something fierce!
Rachael doesn't really like dresses, but I make her wear them now and then other than to church. Here's how it turned out! I had to pat myself on the back.
Now, if I can just get her to look like a young lady instead of a little crazed child!
